Once in a while it's necessairy to take a stand, and this is me taking one now.

Aluminium corporations (highly polluting industry) are planning to expand into Iceland. The problem with that is that they're also planning to build huge dams in order to create reservoirs to power their factories with.

The result of this is that 25%, yes, one quarter of the country will be flooded, used for power for about 50 years and then be left a useless, dirty mud pool. The unique nature will be irreversibly destroyed.

I can hear many of you thinking already: that's in Iceland, what does this have to do with me?
Well yes, it's in Iceland, and in theory that may have indeed little to do with you.
But think about it, the Icelandic government has set a very dangerous precedent: offer enough money, and no matter how endangered the area's wild and/or plantlife, it will be crushed for industry and raw moneymaking.

Now it's Iceland, tomorrow it could be Yellowstone, Stonehenge, Aveburry, het Zwin, the Everglades, or any other "protected" land.
In _your_ country.
So forget about it being far away from you, take a stand nonetheless.
